It is estimated that there are just over 2 million disabled parents in the UK.

We have over 200 full members, and over 500 members on our Peer Support Register, although these numbers are steadily rising!

Can I get to meet other disabled parents through DPN?

By becoming a member of DPN you can also join our Peer Support Register which can put you in contact with other disabled parents. Visit our Membership page for more information.

Does DPN have a central office or Centre?

We have a registered office address but as our staff, volunteers and members are from all around the UK and work from home, we do not have a central office or Centre at present.

Does DPN support for parents with every type of impairment?

DPN is here for all parents, including parents with physical or sensory impairments, people with learning difficulties or long-term illnesses, people with mental health issues and Deaf parents.

Has DPN been around for long?

DPN has been in existence since 1999, although many disabled parents who are members of DPN were involved with ParentAbility before that.

Disabled Parents Network was officially launched in April 2000 at a Reception at the House of Lords, hosted by Lord Jack Ashley of Stoke.

Disabled Parents Network was registered as a Company in January 2001 and a Charity in July 2001.

We have 3 part-time (1.9 equivalent) members of staff.
