Disabled Parents Network has disabled parents who are experienced in speaking at local and national events about the issues for parents with disabilities.

We have provided speakers & workshop leaders for:

August 2003 -GLAD (Greater London Action on Disability) Conference on Disabled Women
September 2003 -Launch of the Joseph Rowntree's Report 'The Right Support ' supporting disabled adults in their parenting role'
October 2003 -'Parenting at the Sharp End' ' the issues for disabled parents Parenting Education and Support Forum (Conference & AGM), London
October 2003 -Social Services Inspectorate/Association of Directors of Social Services conference, Brighton
November 2003 -Disability Alliance Conference, London
December 2003 - 'Disability Capital' Event in Docklands London, hosted by the Mayor Ken Livingstone
January to March 2004 -Series of National Conferences on Direct Payments, organised by National Centre for Independent Living (NCIL) - leading a workshop on Direct Payments and disabled parents.
March 2004 -Presentation on direct payments and parenting at a conference in Walsall for ADSS / SSI.
May 2004 -'Parents At Risk' Conference. Organised jointly by Boys' and Girls' Welfare Society, CAFCASS and Cheshire Social Services
September 2004 -Presentation on direct payments and parenting for the Eastern regional performance management conference CSCI.
October 2004 -Young Carers Practice Day, Herttford.
October 2004 -Scope, Merseyside, Cheshire and Isle of Man Partnership Committee Area Forum
