![]() | Disabled Parents Network (DPN) is a national organisation of and for disabled people who are parents or who hope to become parents, and their families, friends and supporters. |
Would you like to ensure all disabled parents in England receive the support they need to bring up their children on an equal basis with non-disabled parents?
If, like Disabled Parents Network, you do please get in touch TODAY!
FACT: The average cost per disabled parent contacting Disabled Parents Networks helpline is £200 while the average cost per family supported by the Family Advocate is £600.
Disabled Parents Network (DPN) has been predominantly funded by trusts and statutory sources since its inception in 1999. In 2008 the Big Lottery Fund announced that DPN was successful in its bid and will receive considerable funding over the next four years.
This major cash injection will result in a significant transformation of DPNs national support service. While this is wonderful news, substantial funding such as this also brings considerable responsibilities in terms or monitoring and reporting back to funders about our progress. Furthermore once funding from the Big Lottery has ended DPN will need to have new funding in place to carry on its work and continue to develop its services in future.
If you or your organisation would like to consider giving money to Disabled Parents Network, please contact us. We accept donations, however small, or you may consider doing a sponsored event or other fundraising activity to raise money on our behalf. Please contact us to discuss your ideas. We are now also able to accept online donations via PayPal or Credit/Debit Card.
Due to financial and time constraints our part-time Fundraiser is not able to take on the organisation of specific fundraising events but she can provide advice and guidance about how to go about organising your own event to raise funds for Disabled Parents Network.
We would also like to hear from grant making trusts and other funders direct which have an interest in disability issues, young carers, and keeping disabled parent families together.
Even with the Big Lottery Funding (which will mostly cover staff salaries) we are still in need of funds for ongoing general running costs which will enable us to continue our work supporting disabled parent families.
We must raise up to £40,000 per year in order for the Big Lottery to release each annual installment. If we DO NOT have the minimum funds in place each year our Lottery grant will come to an end.
In future; with the right support, there will be fewer young carers and, families which are different only because they include a disabled parent, can have a better chance in life.
Thank You for your interest in supporting
