About us
Disabled Parents Network (DPN) is a national organisation for disabled people who are parents or who hope to become parents and their families, friends and supporters.
We are here for all parents with a disability or long term health challenge.
We help disabled parent families to access appropriate support and grow in knowledge and self confidence.
From 1st December there will be significant changes within Disabled Parents Network (DPN), which are likely to affect services. We aim to minimise any disruption but some services maybe limited after this date. Therefore, we are currently unable to accept any new advocacy cases until further notice.
We are currently able to provide the following services:-
Peer Support Register. It can be very helpful to have another parent to turn to for friendly, informal support and advice. We can put you in touch with disabled parents who have a similar disability, or live in a similar part of the country. Please note you need to be a member of DPN to use this register (click here to become a member).
On-line Forum. Many disabled parents are also active and happy to share ideas / offer support through our online Forum. This is free to join and gives an opportunity to share ideas or offer support. (click here to join).
Local Network Links. These are disabled parents who are actively involved in peer support and influencing services on a local basis. To find out about links in your area please contact us.
Information. DPN has a variety of resources that may be of use. Please see our Publications page for more details. All our materials are free to disabled parents.
We have had to suspend our Advocacy and Helpline Support Services but hope to resume these in the near future.
